INSTALLING A MOUSE BUCKET DEVICE TOP TO YOUR OWN BUCKET
Needed Materials
- Black Sharpie
- Ruler or Tape Measure
- 9/64" Drill Bit
Marking Your Bucket
Not all buckets are designed exactly but the basic 5 Gallon buckets all look the same.
- Begin by drawing a straight line vertically from the handle hole approximately 1.5" down the bucket.
- From the ridge just under the handle hole measure down 3/8" and make a line crossing your vertical line.
- At the center of the two lines drill a 9/64" hole
- Repeat this process on both sides of your bucket.
Assembling Your Bucket
- Remove items from zip lock bag (long bolt, 2 white spacers, 2 gray end caps and peanut butter cup)
- Screw bolt into the nut on underside of lid using two wrenches while gently tightening. NOTE: One wrench will be on nut while tightening bolt with other. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN
- Place one white spacer on one end of axle on lid
- Lay bucket on its side. From inside the bucket place the axle into the hole.
- Hold light pressure on lid and rotate bucket to repeat Step 3 for second hole.
- Lightly squeeze bucket to expand opening while inserting into second hole.
- Take gray caps and place on ends of the axle on outside of bucket.
- Open peanut butter and place on velcro on lid.

Good evening,
Been meaning to write you and let you know that I'm a happy rodent dunker. Though I've only eradicated 10 squirrels and 14 mice, it is a slow and steady thing. I believe that there will be an ongoing supply of rodents to drown. I took a page from your book and took the dead bodies out in our field to feed something else. I have no idea what is taking or eating them, but they do disappear.
I tell others about this great little device and hope you get some more business from it.

Catching your rodents can sometimes be a challenge. The Mouse Bucket Device although tested and loved by many does not work the same for all. Your Mouse Bucket Device can be utilized in a catch and release method or a final removal. The method you choose is your choice and SHEPS USA does not favor one over the other.

CATCH AND RELEASE
To Catch and Release your rodent(s) you should take some newspaper, scrunch it up into a ball and place three to four of them in the bottom of your bucket. Scrunching up the paper does not provide a straight jumping attempt back up to the lid where they could squeeze themselves out of the lid should they try hard enough.
We also recommend putting a dab of peanut butter in the bottom of the bucket to keep them eating while in the bucket.
Just remember if you do the catch and release choice it has been proven that you need to take your rodent(s) at least 2 miles away from your home, and even this has been proven not to be a long enough distance away for the rodent not to return to their home.
FINAL REMOVAL
If you choose to finally rid yourself of the rodent(s) you can put several inches of pink antifreeze in your bucket which is an almost instant final rid of your rodent.

Mice are very smart animals and very cleaver in obtaining their food. Traditional snap mouse traps are often not set off by these smart rodents but the bait in which you leave is eaten. The Mouse Bucket Device, although successful for many with the provided peanut butter cup, does not guarantee the peanut butter cup will do the trick. Try some of these trusted and true baiting ideas.
Placing two areas of peanut butter directly on the Mouse Device Lid is a sure way of getting their attention. Without the Peanut Butter cup for them to possibly cling on to when the lid begins to tilt, the rodent(s) could slide right into the bucket.
Providing a more appealing food bait to the device may also help. Include a couple of nuts or sunflower seeds in your peanut butter mixture or even some beef jerky (see sample phot to left).
